Improving Student Success & Strengthening Alignment

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, sponsored four regional workshops designed to improve college readiness and high school/college alignment. The workshops were designed to help support existing or foster new effective school/college partnerships. Dr. David Conley and the staff at EPIC conducted a series of regional workshops sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Dynamic techniques for improving student success and strengthening alignment between high school and college were shared with participants at these conference sessions. For further information on college readiness and alignment workshops, contact us.

creating action plans

Workshop participants were introduced to a new definition of college-readiness for today's student and an overview of powerful tools available to help improve high school/college alignment. Participants left with an action plan including concrete steps for pursuing local partnerships to improve college-readiness for all students.

EPIC will work with participants after the workshop to gauge their interest and progress and provide additional technical assistance, information, and planning support. EPIC staff will be available to review individual action plans and suggest additional resources and support as well as additional services that might be of interest to participants.

Follow-up information will be used to help identify state policy issues and recommendations for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Results of the efforts from the workshop will serve as a springboard to broader action in preparing every student for success in college and beyond.
