We see a future where education works for all students; where readiness and success are defined by students’ engagement, adaptability, and what they can do with their knowledge, rather than just content mastery and testing. We want to be a creative catalyst inspiring, equipping, and linking schools to create this future.
- Learning is a passion for life.
- Change comes from within.
- Work from your strengths.
- The challenge (and solution) is systemic.
- It takes more than a village.
- There’s no one right answer or path.
- Impact comes when practice, policy, and research are united.
The Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) is a nonprofit consulting group that strives to help educators better equip students for success. EPIC was founded in 2002 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and is a nationally recognized leader in the field of College and Career Readiness.
To gain a better understanding of our history, read a quick biography of our founder, Dr. David Conley, and an overview of his Four Keys to College and Career Readiness. EPIC is currently building and innovating on top of Conley’s defining work, and specifically on the Four Keys model to make these insights actionable in schools, preparing students not just for college readiness, but for each of their life’s transitions. In today’s connected world, it’s no longer just what you know. That’s why we firmly believe readiness and success should be defined by students’ engagement, adaptability, and what they can do with their knowledge. We help districts and schools create learning communities with the right systems and supports so that all students are graduating truly ready for college, career, and life.
We’re “pragmatic idealists.” We help the groundswell of educators, students, communities, and partners who are dissatisfied with the status quo and motivated to find what really works. We share ideas and best practices from our own experience as educators and administrators, and from other schools and districts in our network. And we strive higher, aiming to infuse idealism and optimism back into education, and reminding ourselves and each other of education’s true power: to open doors; to ignite curiosity; to be catalysts for lifelong learning. To redefine readiness and equip and empower every student to pursue their passion, interests, and aspirations.
Take a few minutes to meet our Board of Directors and the EPIC Leadership Team. If becoming part of a team dedicated to creating learning communities with the right systems and supports so that all students are graduating truly ready for college, career, and life appeals to you, discover how you can join the EPIC team.
